Physical Activity has many benefits for children and adolescents' overall health including emotional well- being!

A study (2013) shows that participation in sports/ physical activity may associate with improved psychosocial health include:

・self-esteem

・social interaction 

community sports participation is recommended because it will improve children's physical health as well as their psychological and social health outcomes. 

what is emotional well-being?

 "the emotional quality of an individual’s daily experience — the frequency and intensity of experiences of interest, excitement, joy, pleasure, enjoyment, happiness, hope, or pride that make one’s life pleasant."

There are many treatments for mental disorders, but just 1 in 3 of the children with mental disorders get help…

 

Mental disorders commonly seen in children and adolescents include:

A recent study  (2017) conclude that to increase moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) may treat or prevent childhood depression.

 

MVPA estimate;

  • fewer symptoms in a couple of years later

  • symptoms will decline from 6 to 8 years old
